25 players have been named by the Australian selectors for the contract for the next season, i.e. the 2010-11. There were a couple of surprises in the list as the selectors went on to drop the pair of Nathan Bracken and Stuart Clark, both of whom have not played for Australia for some time now.

The Australian side for the ICC World T20 to be played in West Indies has been announced. The selectors have surprised by including the likes of Michael Hussey and getting the previously injured Brett Lee back into the side.

The Australian team’s woes continue unabated as they have lost another player to an injury. Peter Siddle is the latest casualty in the list of players to have been hit by the injury as he suffered from a side strain. In turn, he will be flying back home and will be replaced by some other bowler, who has yet to be named by the selectors.

Even as the Australian side grapples with the issues related to conceding more than 100 runs in the last ten overs of the previous game against India at Nagpur, they have been dealt with a blow that they would have been expecting but hoping against. Brett Lee will continue to remain unfit and will miss the third game at one of his favourite venues in India, the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.

India took full toll of the injuries that the Australian squad seem to be suffering from and thrashed them by 99 runs in the second ODI of the seven match series at Nagpur. With this win, the series is now tied at one game apiece and the action will move to Delhi where the two sides will play their third game.

Australia has taken a 1-0 lead in the seven game ODI series against India by defeating them by four runs in the first ODI at Baroda. In a closely fought encounter, Australia batted first and scored 292/8 in their fifty overs, and then restricted the Indians to 288/8 to take the series lead.

Australia are finally through to semi-finals of the Champions Trophy as they defeated Pakistan by two wickets in Supersport Park, Centurion in a match that turned into the most nerve-wrecking experience of the tournament so far.
