The sheer number of games that the Indian Team seems to play is bound to take a toll on the availability of players. India’s chances of leveling the series suffered a serious blow as its opening batsman 28-year old Delhi batsman, Gautam Gambhir was ruled out for the third Test starting tomorrow at the P S Sara Oval, Colombo. Gambhir had missed the second Test owing to a knee injury.
Suresh Raina smashed his first Test century on debut as he rescued India in partnership with Sachin Tendulkar on the fourth day of the second Test match at SSC in Colombo.
The Test series is fast approaching the mid-point of the series, and the Indians look to have been beaten in almost all the sessions of the games so far. The first Test match was far too easily won by Sri Lanka, despite 120 overs being lost due to rain, whereas the second Test match looks to be going only one way – away from India.
Lasith Malinga has been ruled out of the second Test match between India and Sri Lanka that will be played at the SSC in Colombo. Malinga complained of a sore knee and that is why he has been ruled out, which means that two of the best bowlers that Sri Lanka had from the previous game, Malinga and Muralitharan will not feature in the second Test match.
The Pakistan cricket could up being in more trouble than before as the investigating committee over their debacle in Australia has recommended some really harsh penalties and fines for some of the players. The recommendations have been sent to the PCB chief Ejaz Butt, who has now to take decision for the same.
