Sachin Tendulkar has become the first ever batsman in the history of international cricket to complete 30000 runs in international cricket. This includes both, ODIs and Test matches. Only recently, Tendulkar had brought up his 17000 runs in the ODI format of the game, and then had gone on to complete twenty years in international cricket. Thus he caps a fine month of record-breaking performances by surpassing the 30k milestone. In the process of becoming the first ever player to complete the milestone, he also helped the side in going closer to securing a draw for his side.

Unfortunately for him, he scored only four before being bowled by C. Welegedera.

Sri Lanka handed India a 139-run drubbing in the last league match of the Compaq Cup tri-series. Although both the sides have already qualified for the finals – to be played on Monday – it was the kind of loss that would send the Indian confidence to an all time low, whereas the Lankans will go into the finals with a lot of confidence.
