Shahid Afridi has shocked the cricketing world by announcing his retirement from Test match cricket! The surprise stems from the fact that he was only into his first Test match as the captain of the side, and was playing only his first Test match since coming back after 2007 when he made this decision.

Pakistan fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, has said that he will use the fifty overs tournament in Paksitan, the Pentangular, to re-launch his career as an international cricketer. He will be a part of the Federal Areas team for the tournament starting on April 17.

Pakistan’s parliament’s senators have said that they are confident that some of the Pakistani cricketers were involved in fixing the matches but have failed to name who the cricketers were. The Pakistan Cricket Board has said that the comments were the senators’ own and not the boards.

The Pakistan cricket could up being in more trouble than before as the investigating committee over their debacle in Australia has recommended some really harsh penalties and fines for some of the players. The recommendations have been sent to the PCB chief Ejaz Butt, who has now to take decision for the same.

The final list of the auctions for the Indian Premier League includes a whopping 66 players after the list was pruned down from the original 97. It had first been cut short to 96 after Chris Cairns had been axed due to his alleged match-fixing allegations.

Yet, he, along with the rest of his team-mates will miss the third edition of the Indian Premier League, because the players did not receive the visas for the same.

The Indian Premier League could see a host of Pakistani cricketers making their comeback into the tournament for the next season. The IPL has set a deadline of 20th November for the Pakistan Cricket Board to send them the NOCs for the participation of the cricketers, and are now working on the paper-work for the visas.
