The three nation series between India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will begin from today. Each team will play the other two sides, twice each, and at the end of this round-robin stage, the top two sides with the highest points will feature in the final of the tournament. There will b six league games. The final will be played on the 13th of January at Dhaka. In fact, all the games will be played at Mirpur in Dhaka and will be day-night matches.

Virender Sehwag almost entered the record books when he fell seven runs short of scoring his third triple century in the history of test match cricket. No player has ever done this so far in test match cricket and Sehwag came within seven runs of doing that before the maestro Muthiah Muralitharan lulled him into playing a shot too early and giving him a return catch!

Sri Lanka’s best ever bowler, and highest wicket-taker in the world, Muthiah Muralitharan has said that he may end his cricket career even before the 2011 World Cup if things do not go to his plan. Earlier, Muralitharan had said that he would give up on the longer format of the game to continue playing for his country till the next edition of the World Cup which will be played in 2011 where Sri Lanka is one of the co-hosts.

Rahul Dravid scored an unbeaten 177 on the first day of the first Ahmedabad test match against Sri Lanka, as India recovered to post 385/6 by the time the stumps were drawn. MS Dhoni was the other centurion in the innings, as Indians recovered from their abysmal start of 32/4 and got to the realms of safety.
