The coach of the Pakistan cricket team, Waqar Younis was equally stunned by the effort and said it in as many words; he was still shocked at his side’s loss to Australia.
The Governing Council meeting which had started at 10 am on Monday, ended after two hours at the BCCI office in Mumbai and Chirayu Amin was appointed as the new chairman of the interim Governing Council. This council will consist of the same number of members as earlier, except that the BCCI chief Shashank Manohar has suspended Lalit Modi.
Earlier Sania Mirza was engaged to Sohrab Mirza (July-2009, a business man from Hyderabad. However, in Jan-2010 it was announced that the Mirza family had called off the engagement. Now, media reported that that Mirza will wed Shoaib Malik, ex-captain of the Pakistan cricket team in April, 2010. This news was confirmed to the media by Imran Mirza, the father of Sania Mirza.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Waqar Younis as the coach of the Pakistani national team. This was after there were many speculations about the same for the last one week about Younis Khan being offered the contract. Younis finally accepted the contract yesterday.
The county of Middlesex is in talks with Yuvraj Singh to have him play for the county in the Twenty20 tournament this year. The county had earlier approached Sachin Tendulkar to feature in the tournament, but the problem with the amount of cricket meant that the maestro had politely refused to be a part of the tournament.
97 cricketers had enlisted themselves to the IPL auction’s list. These players are from various parts of the world, and there were four from Canada, Netherlands and Ireland as well. Zimbabwe had two representations, in the form of Ray Price and Murray Goodwin.
The Kotla controversy refuses to die down. Only a couple of days after the game at the Feroz Shah Kotla was abandoned due to an unfit pitch, there have been contrasting views that have come out from the different stakeholders of the game.
