VVS Laxman has finally spoken out of what one always believed was the case. Talking to the cricket website, Cricinfo, he said that he was worried about India’s lack of spinning options in the domestic cricket.

The BCCI has pumped in more money into the Ranji trophy, India’s premier domestic competition, before the IPL took over as one! As compared to the previous season, where the winning team would get Rs.60 lakhs (Rs. 6 million), the prize money for the champions has been increased to Rs.2 crore (20 millions), whereas the runners-up will now stand to earn Rs.1 crore. The losing semi-finalists will now earn Rs.50 lakhs. The winners of the 2005 competition had earned only Rs.7 lakh.

As name suggests this cricket game consists of 20 overs only (instead of 50 overs). Each bowler is allowed four overs only. This game is targeted to attract new fan.
