The last two days has seen a lot of talk about the game’s spirit, sportsmanship etc. following the no ball bowled by the Sri Lankan off spinner, Suraj Randiv, to Virendar Sehwag. The no ball ensured that India got the required one run to win the game and also that Sehwag remained unbeaten on 99.

As if to prove that the Green Park wicket in Kanpur will not be left behind to Motera in Ahmedabad, in dishing out tracks that afford nothing to the bowlers, and conversely everything for the batsmen, more than 400 runs were scored on the first day of the second test match between India and Sri Lanka. That Sri Lanka managed to scalp two wickets was a big enough relief but there was nothing more for the fielding side to cheer for.

Australia has taken a 1-0 lead in the seven game ODI series against India by defeating them by four runs in the first ODI at Baroda. In a closely fought encounter, Australia batted first and scored 292/8 in their fifty overs, and then restricted the Indians to 288/8 to take the series lead.

Rest of India thrashed Mumbai hopes as they ended the fourth day in a commanding position piling up 352 for 4 on Sunday in Nagpur. Had the rain not played spoilsport in the third session, the situation could have been even more dangerous for Mumbai.
