The Sri Lankan venues for the 2011 edition of the World Cup are well on track to readiness according to the ICC. The ICC had sent a two-member delegation to Sri Lanka and they have has expressed happiness at the amount of work which has been done so far at the three venues to host 12 matches in the 2011 World Cup.
India will go into the fifth and the final day of the first test match against Sri Lanka at Ahmedabad, 144 runs behind and with eight wickets still standing. And with the pitch playing the manner in which it is, the prospects of a result look very remote.
Sachin Tendulkar has completed twenty years in international cricket. He had first played a test match on 15th November, 1989 against Pakistan, as a highly precocious 15-year old and when he walked out to face the Sri Lankans, he was into his 21st year in the international cricket. Unfortunately for him, he scored only four before being bowled by C. Welegedera.

The schedule for the 2011 World Cup was announced during a World Cup event in Mumbai yesterday. According to this schedule, India will play the first ever game of the World Cup at Mirpur against Bangladesh. The tournament begins from the 19th of February and will have the final played on the 2nd of April, a tournament that will run through a week lesser than the previous World Cup.
As reported earlier Dean Jones sacked after an offensive remark regarding Muslim player Hashim Amla.
He called Hashim Amla a ‘terrorist’ on live television during the fourth day’s play between Sri Lanka and South Africa at Colombo.q

Chris Dehring, the CEO of the World Cup organising committee, has said that racism and obscene gestures will not be tolerated at next year’s competition.
