The Pakistan cricket could up being in more trouble than before as the investigating committee over their debacle in Australia has recommended some really harsh penalties and fines for some of the players. The recommendations have been sent to the PCB chief Ejaz Butt, who has now to take decision for the same.

Aussie quickie, Brett Lee is said to be contemplating retiring from the five day format of the game to be able to concentrate on only the ODIs and the T20Is. Lee has been out of the Australian squad for some time now and has had issues with major injuries and has not been the first choice in the Test team despite being one of the fastest around.

Sehwag Continues Battle Against Bangladesh

Virender Sehwag continued to aim barbs at his opposition during the press conference after India had beaten Bangladesh rather comfortably in the first Test match at Chittagong. He again said that the opposition was not good enough to pick up 20 wickets.

The Indian Premier League governing council has decided that there would be two extra teams for the 2011 edition of the IPL from the existing eight sides. However, what is more surprising is the fact that the base price for the bidding has been increased to $225 million. This is more than four times the base price that was set for the first edition of the IPL and more than twice the price of the costliest team in the previous IPL – the $100 plus for Mumbai Indians.

As if to prove that the Green Park wicket in Kanpur will not be left behind to Motera in Ahmedabad, in dishing out tracks that afford nothing to the bowlers, and conversely everything for the batsmen, more than 400 runs were scored on the first day of the second test match between India and Sri Lanka. That Sri Lanka managed to scalp two wickets was a big enough relief but there was nothing more for the fielding side to cheer for.

Sachin Tendulkar has completed twenty years in international cricket. He had first played a test match on 15th November, 1989 against Pakistan, as a highly precocious 15-year old and when he walked out to face the Sri Lankans, he was into his 21st year in the international cricket. Unfortunately for him, he scored only four before being bowled by C. Welegedera.
