Pakistan Coach Bob Woolmer is dead

Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer suddenly died under mysterious circumstances on Sunday. The 58 year old was found unconscious in his hotel room in Jamaica. Woolmer died less than 24 hours after Pakistan exited the World Cup. Woolmer took over as Pakistan coach in June 2004. Previously he coached South Africa Cricket team between 1994 – 1999, guiding them to the World Cup semi-finals.

Woolmer may have died of overdose of prescription drugs and alcohol. However, investigations are still on to find whether the overdose was accidental or planned, reported The Mirror. According to Pakistan team officials, the former England Test player was diabetic and had breathing problems during his sleep.

“It is very shocking news to all of the team and the team management,” said Pakistan team manager Pervez Mir.
