Ashish Nehra’s overseas success rate could have been taken into account. Similarly, L. Balaji would be a useful bowler in bouncy tracks in S.Africa.

TO BCCI,
I am watching the 2006 ODI. Last in the south Africa Indian team doing no good at all. There is a reason. For the ODI need the only new player. Shewag, sachin Thandulkar, keff, Pathan, Harbhajan sing should play only for the test matches. For ODI in the Opening first thing need left and right hand batsman. Dravid, Dhoni, Youvraj sing should stay. For one day. If India need next sachin Tandulkar than they should put Raina for Opening First they should try Raina in the Opening for test match. Sachine Play in ODI than also you can try Raina in the Opening with sachin. Kartic, Mongia, Uthapaa, Shreesant and Munaf Patel as a Fast bollar, Power and Kumblay as a spinar bollar. Now for the test matches they bring Laxman, Jafar, Ganguli bring back again. changing one old engine to other old engine it’s no different. Now we have a team that no good at all. Better send the Ranjit trophy team to play. India has a big population and they can’t find the best team player. I feel sorry for the Indian selectors.

Dear Sir,

Now You would have seen the result of the first Test Match today defeating the strong contender of the World Cup. It is evident that only the presence of Saurav in the Indian Team and in the field could make a magic and put life in the dead Indian Team.

I think this is a lesson for the Selectors especially Kiran More and the Coach, Mr Chappell.

Saurav should be made an integral and inevitable part of the Indian team for at least next 3-4 years, especially till the next World Cup.

I would also like to mention that there is strong need to change the opening couple. There should be either Robin Uthupa or Gautam Gambhir to open with Sehwag and it would be better if there is one left hander and one right hander.

This would also create fire in the cricket team.

I hope my views will be kept in mind while selecting the test team for the next match.

A GOLDEN RULE for improved batting!

Congratulations to the selection committee for picking the best possible side for the World Cup! Fielding and lack of good all-rounders (in comparison with the 1983 team) constitute the chief concern; but India has to compensate by improved batting performance. We have world-class batsmen like Sachin, Dravid, Saurav and Veeru. Others – Robin Utthappa, Yuvraj, Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni too are very useful batsmen. But the bowlers too should perform well. Here is a method useful for the off-colour Veeru and all others (including the bowlers).

My suggestion is that Virendra Sehwag and all others should regularly spend some time behind the wickets during the net practice . This helps in judging the nature of the pitch, line and length and certainly improves focusing of the eyes. This is particularly useful for the batsmen who rely more on the eyesight rather than copy book style.

It is no coincidence that most wicketkeepers of the world develope good batting ability naturally (think of young Parthiv Patel – a school boy of 17 who used to bat so confidently). Watching the deliveries – the length and line – the eyes get focused that gives great confidence while batting. Farooq Engineer (an opening batsmen) did not have a copybook style, but was a very confident batsman because he effectively used his ‘focused vision’ while batting. After three-&-half hours continuous wicket keeping, players like Adam Gilchrist, Kaluwithrana were all the more focused while opening the innings.

There was a time when Rahul Dravid was struggling with his form/concentration and the critics were skeptical about his batting ability in one-day form of the game. But due to certain compulsions he had to keep the wickets; it was after this experiment that he came forward with improved batting performance; he became the ‘most dependable’, ‘the wall’, and so on. Saurav is held responsible for forcing Rahul to keep the wickets but the latter was the beneficiery. Now it is the time for Saurav to do the same for himself (not in the matches, but in the nets) to ensure consistent batting performance as an opener.

Batsmen sent in middle overs or slog overs do not get enough time to get settled; but if the eye sight is focused through regular wicket-keeping practice, they too can fire from the word ‘go’.

There is no disgrace if this little effort helps your batting performance.

Its not only after today’s loss to Sri Lanka and the exit of India from the world cup but also after the very bad performance by the same Indian team in the past, I have felt that the players are not doing their Job!. The sense of Job is missing in every team player. They should be made to understand that the word ‘play’ , for them means their job. And if they are not ‘playing’ , they are doing a Job for which they are paid for. If they do not do it properly , they should be terminated/ Fired !. There should be a minimum target for every ‘player’ ( i mean employee). the target in terms of runs scored by batsman, Wickets taken or Runs /per over restricted by the bowler. Catches dropped should also be penalized. If the bowler or Batsmen do not achieve their targets for a match they should be given penalty points reflecting on match fee because they did not do their job !. Have a Big buffer of players lined up . If one does not perform , the others should be given a chance.

Doing this , there will be an imposition of responsibility in a player. If I am given a chance to manage the Indian team , I would bring in strict targets and performance honing mechanisms through which the players will be forced to perform well.

This is their profession and not street play which we played during child hood. Ask them to do their Job well!. Bring in professionalism!!.

Hope these thoughts will be seriously considered.

Sir don’t blame to any body for failur of Indian team, I think they do there level best but luck is also there, we want only win not lose this is wrong, with every loss we should take some right steps to improve our team & players. Only player changing is not a solution. 2- 3 things should to do.
* First thing Change the Coach, Coach should be ajustable with every team member, then only the tuning will be right.
* Second one Change the Sponsor “SAHARA” is unfit, he never incourage our team i think, give sponsorship to young comany like “RELIANCE” or some one that Board of Director meet team time to time and incourage them personaly, these can do only young comany director.
* Player should not do modeling or Adv. at list selected 11 members. Because they are palying for India not for money, If money is important then leave Cricket, do ads. In India everbody is faithful for his job and when he do his job with faith ,God always help him with his talent. So play for India is also a job and Govt. should give every faciulty to them like House, Good money , prize to them, this way player will play at his level best.
* These rull should be for selected 11 players only, other can earn by buy any way. At least 1 or 2 top selected player should select in Team every year & out same way showing poor purformance.

It’s high time to think about indian team.

1. We have 11 stars and not a team
2. Indian team lacks attitude,aggression and “Must Win” attitude.
3. First and foremost , team members should not appear in any commercials and other extra source of income. I have felt that players use the team as a medium to earn money ,fame and not to play for the NATION
4. Let the team get paid based on their performance and not an “Easy Money”.

Let us give fair chance to all upcoming stars like Robin uthappa,dinesh karthik, VRV singh, R P singh,Munaf patel. Even dhoni can have one more chance as he has some fire in him. he should move out of commercials.

Let’s move these players

Agarkar(no direction as what he has to do as bowler,consumes lot of runs)
shewag( no real fire in him, just irresponsible play)
Rahul dravid( no more as captain, but can be in playing eleven as middle order support)

Don’t we have any more spinners apart from harbajan and kumble? let’s find out more talents.

A Lay-man’s review on the performance of TEAM INDIA in the World Cup:

Many experts both of – the sport, of the so called Control Board, and the Media – might have already spoke a lot on the performance of the Team India in the World Cup. But as a Lay-man and the real lover of the game, I would like to bring the following observations infront of the upcoming meeting of the Think Tank.

I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT ANY TECHNICALITIES NOR AM OF THE OPINION THAT WE SHOULD BE THE WINNERS ALWAYS

My personal feeling is that THERE IS NO IMMEDIATE NECESSITY FOR A TOTAL RECALL OF THE PRESENT TEAM EXCEPT FOR WHO ARE CONTINOUSLY FAILING. The team is well balanced with the 16. But there are some eyebrow raising questions that need to be answered.

Why a team that has made 450 at one match and could not even reach the 200 nark in the other matches? Are they opponents so strong? I feel NO. There is lack of fighting spirit and Team spirit in Team India. And as so many have told one should have the commitment to fight.

First let me ask a question – Why so much Hype- Hoopla has been made on the World Cup Cricket? We must understand – as one of the senior players of the Team India has told – it is like another match and they will play it like that and there no importance of the word World Cup or as such. What a wonderful comment by the senior player!! Yet, we as fools Prayed in the temples, conducted Yagnas, and of course merchandised so many things that are promoted as the World Cup insignia – from spoons to cars. Ha! Haa!!!

Gentlemen, where is the feel of fight for a win on your faces – whether it is another match or a world cup. Those whoever incharge of the behaviour therapy at the BCCI, must teach our players what is a fighting mood and should be able to smell the scent of it from the word go to the end. One player bites the nails and the other does not move from his place where he stands, as if he was gummed. Particularly, the body language of the Captain Mr.Dravid speaks from the over 40 that Team India has given up, in many matches. Shooking his head, putting up a grim face – these are not the fighting feel.

Another important thing, which I have noticed perhaps only with the Team India is that when the ball passes from some distance from them they point the ball to the other fielder and will not move around. When we observe the other teams, even the Bangladesh, almost all the fielders form a diagonal line as back up and everybody runs literally. When our Wicket-keeper runs for the ball almost all the times there is no back up at the stumps. Everybody shouts but doesn’t move. The poorest section of Team India is the FIELDING. Some time Bowling clicks and some times Batting clicks. But perhaps we have never won a game with the BEST FIELDING. It feels to me that, as our players are on high image and are on call sheets as brand ambassadors – but not the game ambassadors – they prefer to be safe by not injuring themselves. Of course there are some exceptions like Kaif and Murali karthik and youraj and the like. But a two or three will not help in team of eleven when the fight is on.

When the opponent team batsmen go merry of the bowling, there is definite change in the faces of all the fielders of Team India of losing spirit. No bowler is consoled on his return and encouraged for a better ball.

I just want to say that this horrible defeat in world cup for India is a worst nightmare. Its high time now that BCCI must take some hard decisions with respect to players for the sake of game and feelings of indians. First of all, players are using BCCI as a step to earn money through advertisements and sponsorships. Playing cricket or being in indian cricket team is just to catch sponsors and good deal of money from advertisers. Till now, BCCI supported the players due to their past records or status in India. But they should think now seriously. All players must be banned for doing more than one advertisement at a time. This will make them pay more attention to their game as they will keep in mind that main source of earning money is cricket as they are only interested in that. So, please be strict with them and make selections on present performance only.

The coverage given by media to this has further escalated the fire which is already burning due to the flayed tempers raked up by poor performance. The first casualty it seems is Chappel. As he has already submitted his resignation, now it is a million dollar question as to who will be chosen to carry the mantly from here on. In this regard, I wish to suggest that Mohinder Amarnath should be given a chance. He is a born fighter. I feel under his able stewardship the team will be reborn with much vigour and talent. Create a ranking system for Indian Cricket Players
The present system of selecting the members for Team India is haphazard and unconvincing. The selectors have to go by names, rumors and conjectures. They just hope, and pray with fingers crossed, that the players will perform because they had performed sometime in the past. Some famous names get automatically selected while many players who in fact are better on the field get rejected. The selectors will earn the wrath of the ‘pundits’ if some names are dropped. Many upcoming players who need to be encouraged and given chance dwindle in neglect and ignominy. The selected ones bask in their past glory, make fame and money and do not deliver.
One solution to overcome this situation is to create a ranking among the players on the lines of ICC ranking. Selection should be done on the basis of an empirically measurable parameter. For this, the performance of the players in the domestic circle should be taken into account, along with international performance if any. This will encourage senior players to take a keen interest in domestic games also.
The ranking should take into consideration all features and facts regarding the player – like right-handed, left-handed, opener, middle order, runs scored, wickets taken, off-spin, leg-spin, fast, medium, performance during the last two years and other similar features. Creating such a ranking system may not be difficult in the modern days of technological development and as we already have a model in ICC ranking. Once this is ready, blatant misappropriation of the ranking cannot be indulged in for favoritism or other considerations. Every time the Indian Team is to be selected, the selectors can easily fall back on this rank list and choose the players depending on their merit and current performance. This will also go a long way in ensuring credibility and avoiding ill-will amongst the players. The selectors will also be able to give the cricket-loving fraternity convincing answers about the mode of selection.
The existence of such a list does not mean that the first 15 players in the ranking should be selected. There should be enough openers, left and right handed batsmen, fast and spin bowlers. Each can be selected from the ranking, considering their availability and the exigencies of the Team.
The BCCI should be persuaded to think on these lines at the earliest.

There should be a fixed salary of the cricketer. If he playing an extra ordinary innings. only that time he desering for the bonus otherwise only Fixed salarty. and also there should be banned on advertisement. because todays cricketer only play for money not for game.

Because India win or loss. Cricketer earning in Crores. means they knows that India wins or defete they get there contract money. No body can cancel the money.

I understand (started disbeliving) that the selection of players mainly depends on the steady perfomance of each and all players in BCCI. If so why Mr. Ranadev Bose being the most successful fast bowler in the domestic aerena was not given a chance in the recent past in event in England and was sent home. Will it not compel an east Indian/Bengali, to think otherwise? How to belief that BCCI is impartial?

the spectacular nailbiting victory for india to equalise the test series with england was actually achieved by the bright new player robin uttappa who stood firmly at his crease and refused to be cowed down by the english bowlers.

in the last over of the game when he needed 10 runs he hit a four then 2 runs and only 3 balls were remaining and 4 runs needed .the entire audience gave robin uttappa a standing ovation when he hit thwe priceless four with still 2 balls to spare !!

the performances of the earlier senior players sachin tendulker and saurav ganguly cannot be ignored as they piled up 150 runs without losing their wickets which certainly put india in an advantageous position.
later the partnership between dhoni and uttappa again gave some hopes to india who were allmost losing the game..

robin uttappa will allways be remembered for his fantastic and brave victory which e snatched for india from the jaws of defeat !

After the final of Twenty20, you have announced a sports car for Yuvraj. Please do not single out one person from the team and create factionalism. This would not only create factionalism in the team but also ruin future wins or the team would get broken down to individual performances and would recreate a team which existed previously. Please reward all the players equally and give equal credit for everybody’s performances. I’m against giving individual rewards because it creates factionalism in the team and would undermine or destroy the performance of the team as a whole. I sincerely request you to consider my request and make Dhoni responsible for the team’s performance not individuals.

While watching the indian tour of england this summer I and many other viewers have come to realise that there is an overbearing sense of bias against players from sub continent. There have been so many wrong decisions given against indian batsmen and to top it all no penalty was levied against James Anderson who made a deliberate physical contact against Gautam Gambhir. But for the same reason Sreesanth was levied 50% of the match fees and i guess it was the pressure from ECB and ICC on Indian team that led to his departure from the ODI series. I think the only way you could correct this unjustified conduct would be to penalise James Anderson for his deliberate contact against Gautam Gambhir. I hope the ICC would penalise James Anderson to show to the world public that they are not prejudiced against players of sub continent region and also the players of Anglo-saxon descent are booked appropriately for their mis-conduct on the field. This matter would certainly come under close scrutiny in Indian media and the cricket governing bodies of India. The real misfortune is the degree of influence this vocal, deluded minority has over the silent, reasonable majority. And that we allow it to continue…

Now that Australia was outclassed by a young pasionate indian team in world cup 20-20 match, the main Anglo-Saxon body that controls ICC and who mainly hail from Australia and England were quick to slam Sreesanth and the Indian team with unjustified fines. They cant bear to see Sreesanth bowiling so accurately and passionately for team India and in frustration and desperation fine the young youthful budding palyer. I think aussies and english should be fined for their excessive appealing and the slow over arte that india was fined for was in part due to aussies requiring a runner for Hussey. Hayden, Hussey and Clarke were having discussion on ground and there was time wasted when Hayden finally appeared as a runner. He also should have been kept out of the discussion he was having with palying batsmen as he was simply a runner. This bias has to stop now because it will not be long that Indians and indian team and management will voice their anger and injustice publically to ICC and as its main contributor in terms of resources, stop the flow of money to ICC that is earned through indian viewers and advertisements.

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his team have atlast defeated pakistan and made INDIA the ICC 20 WORLD CHAMPIONS !
GautamGambhir did a very creditable job by scoring the highest runs 75 for INDIA even though Yuvraj and other batsmen did not rise above 50 though collectively INDIA made a comfortable score not good enough to defend.
when PAKISTAN came in to bat r.p singh took 2 wickets quickly and later IRFAN PATHAN took 2 more wickets which made a creditable dent in PAKISTAN’S defence system.
the match came upto a nail biting finish with only 5 runs left to be made and it was at this moment that srisanth took a beautiful catch and dismissed PAKISTAN’S last man!
the results were evenly poised but winners are winners and loosers are loosers !
Irfan pathan deservingly got the man-of -the -match award for taking 3 wickets in 16 runs only .
the ICC TWENTY 20 WORLD CUP has proved to be a grand success seeing the fabulous popularity all round the world !

the second odi between india and australia on 2nd october 2007 at KOCHI proved clearly that neither our bowlers nor batsmen were upto the mark and both failed miserably in their respective performances !?
if bowling was good then how could the aussies score 307 runs agin !? and if the batting was good how is that our star players crumbled and we lost by allmost 100 runs ?!
after the euphoria of winning the world cup we should have given sufficent rest to our players as aussies came here with a vengence and we took them lightly which proved wrong for us.
the time has come for our bowlers and batsmen to roll up their sleeves and give a fitting reply to australia !

the 5 wicket won was mainly possible due to the excellent batting by saurav ganguly,gautam gambhir and the magnificent partnership betwwen the indian captain mahendra singh dhoni and yuvraj singh who brought the indian score to the doorgates of victory by a solid partnership of 105 runs thus in the finishing line both robin uthapa and irfan just skidded through to a comfortable victory by 5 wickets over over arch rival pakistan !
the last sixer hit y robin uthapa proved the vibrancy of the indian cricket team over pakistan..
tendulker who proved fruitless in batting proved himself as a good bowler when he too 2 important wickets specially afridi who could have turned the game.ganguly ‘s lapse in dropping mohmed yousuf’s easy catch proved costly as this batsmen piled up the highest score of 83 runs not out !this wicket alone would have made a lot of difference.
our bowlers deserve tributes for containing pakistan to only 239 runs making it an easy total for india to surpass for acomfortable victory !

registering a glorious victory over Pakistan at Kanpur and giving a
lovely diwali gift to the nation !
even though the score was not above 300 the total runs made by indian
batsmen specially by ganguly ,yuvraj and dhoni helped India to pileup
a respectable score.
when put in to bat the indian bowlers comfortably packed up saeed
afridi, and mohmed yusuf who are their best batsmen but salman butt
remained undisturbed to pile up a century and posing a challenge for
India.however with sheer grit and determination the Indian bowlers eliminated their
batsmen one after the other and won the 3rd odi by a comfortable
margin !
the india cricket players have now a 2-1 lead in the series and have
proved to be better organised players however both sehwag and dravid
should be brought back as our star batsmen to help our batting
strength.

Making Anil Kumble captain of the Indian Cricket Team shows the intellectual bankruptcy of the Board and the selectors. A man who is past his prime years before is made the captain just to reward his loyalty. Same is the case with Venkatesh Prasad who was a very ordinary bowler and got to play international cricket with only one ball – Leg Cutter in his armoury (It happens only in India!!!) is now the bowling coach. What he coaches is for the Gods to know!?

if you observe the dress worn by our indian cricket test players you will be shocked to note that our country ‘INDIA’ is nowhere to be seen ?!
all the players including ball boys, fieldsmen are sporting shirts with ‘SAHARA’ written prominently as though BCCI has sold our cricket team to ‘SAHARA’.
This is a monumental blunder as no sponsor has the right to ignore the name of the country as the country allways comes first.
The BCCI COMMITTEE must look into this blunder urgently as ommission of our country’s name is an insult to our country !
no sponsor however big they may be should be allowed to obliterate the name ‘INDIA’ and put their logo on our players’ shirts this is a disgrace to our nation .
The BCCI has adequate funds at it’s disposal and must not play to the tunes of the sponsors and ignore the country for which the players are playing.

The final test match between INDIA and PAKISTAN proved to be a nail biting finish making this test match one of the most unforgettable matches i have seen in test cricket !

if it was not for the light conditions PAKISTAN would have lost this match as 7wickets were down and captain ANIL KUMBLE was crashing the PAKISTANI batsmen like nine pins and victory was very much in sight for INDIA as only 3 wickets remained to be taken !

with rwelve overs left and 212 runs needed it was impossible for PAKISTAN to escapefrom defeat or fight for a draw but only the fading light saved them though INDIA still won the series and established it’s superiority over PAKISTAN both in test cricket and ODI series.after 27 years on indian soil..

SAURAV GANGULY entered test history with his double century and ANIL KUMBLE registered himself as a spectacular bowler and a worthy captain for INDIA..

I have two vivid childhood memories of the eighties, one of mass hysteria evoked by cricket and the other of you Sir, and your meteoric rise as the Doyen of Indian Politics. I have always admired your interest in cricket and contribution towards its growth .Who can forget the 1985 Benson And Hedges World Championship.Mr S.M Gavaskar in ‘One Day Wonder ‘ has attributed the victory of the championship to the then wicket keeper, Mr Sadanand Vishwanath.He was undoubtedly one of the best wicket keepers that India has ever produced . His is the classic case of destiny playing havoc in a youngsters life. Today he is the only test player who is umpiring. His perseverence, determination and die hard spirit deserves to be applauded and it is high time that he gets his rightful place under the sun in form of an international umpire.It is left to us how we treat our unsung heroes, either we give them the long overdue recognition or else watch them wither away to anonymity or worse still watch helplessly as they are lured away by the rival cricket leagues . Justice delayed is justice denied . I am well aware of your limitations but also know about the power of your pen.This lone ranger deserves to rewrite his name in the annals of cricket. It would be nice to see him walk on to the same ground as an international umpire, where he created history as the gloved wonder of 1985.

Unprofessional, biased umpiring has paved way for Indian team collapse on
the 5 th day match and taking opinion from Ricky ponting by umpire for
Ganguly’s dismissal without asking opinion from the 3 rd umpire is not
acceptable or can consider International cricket code of conduct. Infact
BCCI need to seek ICC for appropriate action against the umpires.
In case of any unfair decision by the arbitrator – British lawyer and match
referee against Harbhajan Singh during the hearing scheduled today need to
be seriously viewed and if required BCCI need to pull out Indian team from
playing further matches as its totally disgusting.

I being so patriotic follower of the game and also being a close follower of Indian Cricket team has really felt hurted to see India going down losing in SCG test match due to some very pathetic umpiring for for once but more than 5-6 times at crucial point of the match. Iam sure this would the feeling going on in the hearts of millions of fans in India. So we would request you take up the issue to ICC and make the umpires pay for their mistakes just like what Pakistan did to umpire Mr.Darell Hair. So that it will be a good lesson for the umpires in future. I hope you look into this matter and take necessary action. Thank you sir.

Gavaskar had lambasted BCCI on 5th Jan in a private channel. If he is still a member in any of BCCI committee you ask for explanation. People tell he is a great batsman, but I wont agree, he is 36 not out in 60 overs, since Venkatraghavan was make 60 overs one day team in those days.

I aam writing this message for the officials of BCCI. the recent incidence at Sydeny Cricket ground are not in good taste, moreover the aftermath is really a shame and insult to India and people of India. BCCI no doubt is an organization bound to certian international committments but at the same time whatever happening on feild and with playours affects the reputation and morale of fellow countrymen. I request BCCI to take a stron note with ICC and more importantly with Cricket Australia, whatever is happening there. Austarial player everybody knows and see how they behave and infact ICC has promoted racism by dicriminating Indian cricketer through these referees whoes integrity and biasness is well known. It is high time that BCCI should come forward and put their case strongly. It is a matter of India’s respect. Please wake up and do something.

There are two things I find most disturbing about the current cricket series between Australia and India. The first was the poor attitude we showed in chasing the target total set by the Aussies in the second test. I do believe it was pretty sporting of the Aussies to have given a semblance of a chance to India to make a charge while at the same time using the charge as a ploy to go in for wickets. Being a test down, it was disappointing to see India throw down the gauntlet quite early. This inspite of the team having several members from the team that won the recent Twenty20 championship. To make matters worse, we lost inspite of playing for a draw, some dubious umpiring decisions not-withstanding. It would have been a matter of great pride if at least we made a token attempt at taking the game to the Aussies and then lost!

Secondly, the on field antics by the Aussie team and the off field smug behaviour of the powers that be at the ICC is downright disgusting. With regards to the Aussie team, I am sure they will be censured enough by their own fans and media. Besides, it would be in their own best interests to pull up their act. As for the ICC, I think it is really high time that the Asian teams pull in their weights at the international level. The BCCI is the highest money grossing cricketing association and the largest contributor to the ICC coffers. I do not see why the power echelons at the top levels of the ICC should not reflect this current stature. Even more so, I simply do not understand why we continue to abstain from taking on the ICC. Surely we must recognize that ICC needs the Asian teams more than the other way round. An Indo-Pak or Indo-Sri Lanka test series is more or less sufficient to sustain our own International charter for years to come. And we have shown that we have enough money and playing power to attract star players from other cricket playing nations as was evidenced by the recent drawing power of the various Twenty20 leagues in India.

I think it is high time we lose this colonial mind-set and take our rightful position in the hierarchy of power at the top levels of the cricketing world before we let slip the advantages we now have, as we did previously for hockey, both on and off the playing field.

The final day of the Sydney Test in Jan’08 is the blackest day in the history of Australian cricket according to me.
The total lack of the spirit of the game shown by the australians is a shameful act for any proud sportsperson, let alone an australian . I could never have imagined that the australians would stoop to such a low level to win. In the process they have not only maligned the game but insulted their proud predecessors like Steve Waugh who took australian cricket to dignified status. The arrogance of Ponting in the post-match press conference was disgusting to say the least.

I don’t think it is appropriate for our cricketers to stay in Australia for even a minute more after the humiliation and ignominy that they have suffered for no fault of theirs. Hence I, on behalf of the lakhs of proud Indians, urge the BCCI to abandon this tour with immediate effect and prevent further insult to our cricket and cricketers.

Visiting teams in the past have also had a rough deal at the hands of umpires whilst playing in India.
Dont kid yourself that India has a squeeky clean record in regards to good sportsmanship.
The ICC was established to represent “all” cricket nations as an independant body. India has every right to appeal independant match referee Mike Proctor’s decision. However India has no right to demand a specific outcome of that appeal. That equates to blackmail
The whole scenario is starting to remind me of my childhood days playing backyard cricket. If one of the snotty nosed little upstarts didnt like the umpires decision they took their bat and ball and went sulking off home.

Forcing Harbhajan’s charges to be dropped by using extortion is definitely not in the spirit of the game. Everybody knows what he said, and why. Threatening to cancel a tour if one player is found guilty of a charge by an official body is just gutless. It belittles the respect held for several other players. DEAR EDITOR,

it is really a very tragic time for cricket that players are being sold to a particular team for prices beyond the imagination of the players themselves !?

how can players play for a team which has no national team but an international team where failures or success will be for their masters/sponsors and the cricketeers are only a circus team playing for the money and nothing else !?

it is to be noted that playing for the country is one important thing which interest the audiences and playing for a sponsor/master has no purposeful meaning at all?!

the IPL is heading for a collosal disaster as it will become a mutual admiration society with players jumping from one team to another for a few rupees/dollars/pounds more ?!

a fullfledged indian team winning a test match or a ‘one day’ match against pakistan ,australia or south africa is a significant victory wheras the IPL matches will become only a tamasha or a circus and have no national significance !!

i just want to suggest one thing about the indian order for batting in the final match with Australia regarding Virender Sehwag. from my point of view you should play Sehwag at the 6 th dawn in order to a get a big total for the indian team.th e reason is that at that position bowlers will face mental pressure because of Sehwag’s technique of playing and in overs 35 to 50 runs are important over patnership n Sehwag is Run Machine . That’s all thanx and my very best wishes for Indian Team for the final match…. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May I suggest you to award one “Fan of the Match” by picking a computer generated random no. of the ticket and announcing in the middle of the match,handing over a cheque of say Rs 1 lakh along with the players. Such agesture would generate lot of excitement amongst fans.

Hello all BCCI officials:
I am cricket lover and just want to add to Sree-Bhajji confrontation that any player should not cross his limits to provoke other player for physical assault on other. Bhajji’s ban for 11 matches is more than sufficient for him, I think he could’nt take 3rd defeat in a row for a team in which Tendulkar is the captain and he must have been drawn into this controversial act. Bhajji is indeed an ace bowler for India.

Dear Mr Pawar,
I was glad to read about the case which BCCI has registered in the Chennai High Court on Indian Fantasy league. This is such a big hoax being perperated. It was only much later that I realised this was not an official version, when the teams that I had formed and were doing extremely good, suddenly started having techinical problems. Once in while the players with good marks suddenly had zero, and I started tracking the teams with high marks along with my friend. We noticed sudden changes in the team composition, against the stated rules, my players not getting the points whereas some teams did. Strangely the teams with low marks , had points credited , but teams with high chances of figuring in the prize list did not have.
For Ex- My best team had Shaun Marsh,yuvraj, pathan and hopes , whose marks have not been added. It could have leap frogged the team to within striking distance of top prizes.
I am surprised , as to how BCCI waited this long before taking action. Please take an action now, and ban this site.
If you need evidence I will give it to you.

When i reached to the calling place what i found that 9 players were in the team .the main thing i want to tell you that here a player which have source they are getting chance and if the talented player no source they not getting chance .please try to let the talented player come you should do some thing about it .

HE SHOULD BE PLAYED AT NO 9 OR 10.

what a selection committee. What a think tank indian team is having. What a ploy to
defend sri lanka . Its a shame that indian team is not having a good backup of bowlers. What was the need to take pragyan ojha when you have harbhajan , yuvraj and sehwag as spinners. Why did the think tank not opt for amit mishra when your bowling is weak. It would have added a variety to the bowling. When harbhajan is not fit why was he selected in the playing eleven. Its pathetic that indian team is playing with statistics and not with the current form of the players.

you ask to bcci find new fast, boller only we have spin actak,but spin is the not best answer,
we need fast boller who throw the boll at list 140kmh .in one day and test match two boller of one day and two boller of test match then you see no one can bit to india
Is it bcci is sleeping,they can not find the fast boller.do something make a cricket camp only for fast boller & throw out a application form to web site to intrested to join the camp for fast boller only and find out the fast boller you are the world reach cricket bord and you did not find is very same on you.

pak has got fast boller
and many more team has got fast boller they are not reach cricket bord like that us
so why we did not find at list we got 10 fast boller in our bench who throw thw boll over 140kmh then our banch is going strong i give this massage to all bcci staff who is working for cricket plz can you do some thing for cricket did not west your time to seat down in ac room go out and find the fast boller then you see how many boller you got.thatg itcoz i love my country you did not.
